WELCOME FROM REV. CLAUDE CARTER, SUPPLY PASTOR
On behalf of our congregation, I welcome you to Airlee Court Baptist Church's website. As you take a look around these pages, I hope that you get a good feel for the type of church we seek to be. If you are looking for a church family with which to be involved, I invite you to visit with us on Sunday morning and worship with our family of faith. Finding a church home is such an important decision, so come as you are. I hope you will find our worship service meaningful and the people warm and friendly. Thank you for visiting us online. Should you have any questions about our church, feel free to call our church office - 540-362-1623.
PASTOR'S WEEKLY SCRIPTURE THOUGHT (Week of August 29)
2Hear, all you peoples! Listen, O earth, and all that is in it! Let the Lord GOD be a witness against you, The Lord from His holy temple. (Micah 1:2; NKJV)
PASTOR'S MONTHLY MESSAGE (Month of September)
In our new Sunday School class, 'Sunday School in the Sanctuary', we have been studying about people connected with King David who was the King of Judah and Israel for 40 years, from 1010 B.C. to 970 B.C. - King David was loved by most of the people and hated by some. Although he was a very successful king, he committed some terrible sins and when he was confronted by God's servant, Nathan, David confessed and then wrote a Psalm of Repentance, being Psalm 51. Since none of us are perfect, I believe we can benefit from reviewing ten of the nineteen verses of this special Psalm.
Psalm 51 (NIV) -and David said:
1Have Mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge. 10Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you. 15O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. 17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
Jesus tells us that the message of repentance and forgiveness of sins should be presented to every nation. We, the believers at ACBC, can do this as the Family of God.
